Shipping, Returns & Refund Guidelines

General Conditions

All items sold by Statement Collectables are pre-owned, vintage, or refurbished and are sold voetstoots.

We maintain an open-door policy and encourage clients to arrange viewings or request additional information prior to purchase. Transparency before sale ensures satisfaction after delivery.

We make every reasonable effort to accurately describe and photograph the condition of each item listed online or sold in-store.
Clients are encouraged to view and inspect items in person prior to purchase or to request additional information before completing an online order.

Given the nature of vintage and period furniture—many items being over 50 years old—reasonable age-related wear is to be expected. Any material flaws, repairs, or defects that may reasonably affect value or use will be disclosed in the product description.

Shipping & Collection

  • Delivery or collection arrangements are confirmed after purchase.
    We encourage our clients to work with our recommended and trusted regular shipping partners.

  • Risk and ownership transfer to the client upon collection or dispatch, whichever occurs first.

  • Statement Collectables is not responsible for damage incurred during third-party transport once items leave our premises.

We strongly recommend insured, professional furniture transport services.

Damaged or Defective Items

If an item arrives damaged or defective, notify us immediately upon delivery with supporting photographs. Each case will be investigated to determine cause and appropriate resolution.

Delivery timelines are estimates and may vary depending on location and logistics availability.

Returns

Eligibility

Returns are considered only if:

  • A return request is submitted within 14 days of purchase

  • The item remains in the same condition as delivered

  • The issue relates to a material, undisclosed defect

Returns will not be accepted if:

  • Damage occurred after delivery or collection

  • The item was altered, mishandled, or incorrectly transported

  • The item was purchased on sale

  • The item is a gift card or store credit


Return Process

  1. Email statementcollectables@gmail.com with:

    • Order/Invoice number

    • Reason for return

    • Minimum 3 clear photographs of the issue

  2. Please allow up to 7 business days for assessment.

  3. If approved, return instructions will be issued.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
Statement Collectables accepts no liability for items damaged in return transit.

 

Refunds

  • Returned items are inspected upon receipt.

  • Approved refunds are processed within 7 business days.

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.

  • Statement reserves the right to issue store credit in lieu of a cash refund where appropriate.
